Biography
Bert Bryant was born Herbert Lee Bryant in Albemarle, North Carolina on November 27. When Bert was three years old his family moved to Knoxville, Tennessee. He first picked up the guitar at the age of six. Bert also played in the school band from the forth grade until the ninth grade. During this time he learned about music theory, composition and preforming; playing trumpet, French horn, and Tuba. This gave him a well rounded idea of how music worked as a whole. When Bert was ten years old his family moved again to Monroe, Louisiana. When Bert was fourteen he realized that he wanted to pursue guitar professionally. Bert formed “NightShift” his first professional bad in Monroe Louisiana at the age of nineteen gaining much success and headlining the Louisiana Music festival in Shreveport, Louisiana. After three years with NightShift Bert went to L.A. to go to the world renowned MI or Music institute. Bert played in many bands in the L.A. area and recorded in Wayne Cooks Studio with Nickle Slick, an L.A. based band. In 1995 Bert moved to Austin Texas. His first project in Austin Was a band called “Bang Zero”. They recorded in Ben Blank’s studio and played Steamboats several times and other Six Street venues. While Bert was playing with “Bob’z Your Uncle” Bert was asked to play in Malford Milligans band (a well known Austin vocalist). Bert toured with Malford for a year and a-half. Bert then went on to devote his time to “Bob’z Your Uncle”. They where gaining momentum when the drummer and bass player were involved in a car accident. this left the drummer with two broken legs and the bass player with one broken leg. This lead Bert to start doing his solo project. Doing all of his own stuff. Writing, playing and recording everything.
